The Somovimento House
We are a family owned and operated business.
The Casa de Cultura Somovimento was created in 2020, by Vera Passos and Nei Sacramento, with the aim of making an independent space feasible with the proposal to spread art and make it more
accessible to everyone.
This artistic, cultural and educational space is a reference center for Afro-Diaspora dances and music, which in an integrated way seeks to affirm the ancestral presence that empowers individual action and emancipation movement, starting from the recognition of the self that dialogues with the whole around you.
CONTRIBUA
Voluntary donations affirm our social commitment to contribute to the artistic and cultural formation of children, young people and adults and to be a reference center of culture in the African diaspora through dance and music acting in an integrated manner.
ARTE, SOM & MOVIMENTO
The House offers space for sharing and producing cultural projects, shows, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and courses, which contribute to the education of the individual, through art and the transmission of knowledge.
NOSSA MISSÃO
Our cultural mission is to affirm the presence and memory of the ancestral knowledge of African matrices in Brazil. The goal of teaching is to contribute to the emancipation of the individual, self-knowledge and the fostering of dialogues of equality and possibilities for all.
